Got Awkward?

As many of my regular readers go, I'm pretty much the Queen of Awkward. I've got a prime example of the the crap that happens to me over at the Writer's Evolution Blog - one I don't think I've shared with you, yet. At least...I can't find it anywhere on the blog, so hopefully, it's new to you. :)

Please feel free to tell me about your most embarrassing story. I promise, you'll be in good company.

In case you're curious...

We've been blogging at Writer's Evolution this week about genres we just don't understand. These are the ones I don't understand. And I can say with some surety, I'll never write.

Stop by and let me know which genres baffle you! :)

Why I shouldn't try new things.

First off, Happy St. Patrick's Day! I've got lovely ceilidh music playing while I work and a lovely Guinness Beef Stew bubbling away in the crockpot.

After yesterday's debacle of a supper, my family is beyond thrilled that I'm making stew for supper tonight. In a fit of misguided optimism, and bored with my regular chicken recipes, I tried something new. I'm going to go on record as saying this was indeed the worst thing I've ever made. We're talking straight up terribad.

In my defense, it sounded like it had potential - sort of an orange chicken dish - or so I thought. It ended up being a dish of pain and suffering, my friends. Pain and suffering lovingly prepared in my crockpot.

My family, bless their hearts, choked it down. And Corwin said, "Mama, I'm giving you an A for effort, but an F for BLERGH!"

It was a fair assessment.

Matt patted my shoulder and said, "You tried."

Killian gave Herne some chicken. Herne threw it up. That's how bad this was. The cat threw up the chicken. On my floor. In front of me. Then looked at me accusingly. Nobody made you eat it, cat.

But tonight will be different. Tonight I won't try anything new. I'll make the yummy beef stew that Brynn taught me to make. And no one will vomit it up on the floor in front of me.

Oh and speaking of vomit, I blogged over at Evo about words I hate coming across in romances.

New Year's Resolutions and Other Awesome Stuff.

Well, it's that time of year, and I'm trying to make some resolutions that I can stick to as opposed to failing miserably and wallowing in guilt starting in November when I realize I've failed miserably and have no chance in hell of catching up. My goals are posted over at Writer's Evo.

One of the best resolution related posts I've read in ages is here, by one of my favorite authors, Maggie Steifvater. Really, go read it! It's fantastic!

I have to say I've gotten some of the most amazing reviews lately from a brand new review site that I just LOVE. Okay, I know what you're thinking. Obviously I'm gonna love a review site the loves my books, right? Well, *scuffing toe in the dirt* yeah. But also, no.

Often times when we get reviews, they're just a line or two after a huge rehashing of the plot in which crucial spoilers are given away. And sometimes, despite the rating system, you're left wondering if the reviewer actually liked your book.

Not so at Miz Love & Crew Love Books! These are in depth reviews with no spoilers, a discussion of what worked and what didn't and snippets of some of the reviewers favorite bits. I love me some Miz Love & Crew. If you have a book you'd like reviewed, please don't hesitate to drop them a note. These reviewers are passionate about books.

I'd like to share some of my shiny new reviews! Cuffed and Dangerous. Just Right. Maggie's Mates and Immortal Curse. (Yay, I made her cry with the last one! :D)

Seussical Nightmare

Someone (I suspect Brynn Paulin) came up with the idea of telling one of our stories Dr. Seuss style over at the Writer's Evolution blog. You can read my attempt, here. It's my take on How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Mystic Circle.

Sorry, Dr. Seuss...blame Brynn.

BTW, if he decides to haunt me, I'll point him in the right direction. ;)

A Little News

I just got a lovely review from Joyfully Reviewed (Thanks Amelia!) She said:

Bronwyn Green puts an interesting and erotic spin on the Arthur tale with Ronan, a knight to die for. His chivalrous manner and love for Morgan made me swoon, and made me wish for my own magical knight. I loved watching him woe Morgan, who watched her father cheat on her mother, and vowed never to love. Add in a villain in the form of Mordred and you have a wonderful story.

Lovers of the Arthurian tales will not want to miss Ronan’s Grail. It is a book that will warm your heart, and make you believe in magic. Morgan Foster is the sister of Gray Foster, featured in Ms. Green’s book I Put A Spell On You.

Also, I'm blogging over at Writer's Evolution about all the ways I avoid writing. I'd love it if you dropped by. In fact, we've been blogging all week about this topic and there's plenty of insight as to why we avoid what we love to do and how we go about avoiding.

And last, but certainly not least, my friend Margaret just had a short story of hers published at Reflection's Edge called Keeping House and it's here if you'd like to read it. Yay Margaret!
