I've been remiss (surprise, surprise)

So, I had a book release a couple weeks ago and I forgot to mention it, 'cause I've been busy and I suck a little. Turns out that I have another one coming out today, so I thought it might be a good idea to post about them.

Also, I'm procrastinating because I don't feel like making the metric fuck-ton of cookies required from me this weekend.

Two for the Shrew, part of the As We Like It collection is out from Resplendence Publishing. All of the books are re-imaginings of Shakespeare's classic plays.

Advertising executives, John Petruchio and Simon Verona have been awarded the account of a lifetime—the vitamin and supplement empire, Minola Essentials. But what they really want is the delectable but shrewish CEO, Catherine Minola.

Catherine is the queen of her company, so when her retired father hires an ad agency without telling her, she's less than thrilled. Even more so when she realizes the two men she’s never quite gotten out of her system are back and they’re not shy about making up for lost time.

She thinks a no-strings fling might be just what she needs, but they have other plans.

Today at Passion in Print, I have a holiday story out. It's called Unexpected Gifts.

Feeling sorry for herself, Cassie Williams plays sick to skip out of her family’s Christmas Eve gathering. She loves her family, but on the heels of a divorce and her ex’s new engagement, an evening of togetherness is the last thing she wants.

Long-time friend, Sam MacLane has been in love with Cassie for years, and he isn’t about to let her have her pity party. There’s a blizzard on the way, and Sam shows up on her doorstep—bearing gifts....

Damn...that didn't waste as much time as I'd hoped. Guess I'd better make those cookies. And the green bean casserole. Again.

It's My 500th Post!!!

Okay, I know that's not a big deal, especially since a lot of people are awesome and blog every day. But for me, it's pretty huge. Mostly because I'm really busy...and also easily distracted.

Shiny!

Oops. Right. Back to this post.

Okay, so anyway, I figured I should do something to celebrate my 500th blog post - and that something is a print book and swag giveaway! There will be three winners, and all you need to do to enter is leave a comment and a valid email address.

Included in the giveaway is a print copy of Overlord's Chosen, a notepad and a purse sized mirror. A print copy of Celtic Fire, a notepad and a purse sized mirror. And finally, a print copy of Seducing the Myth (awesome antho of erotic retellings of myths - my story Maiden's Grail is in there) note and mirror.

So, go on - what are you waiting for! Enter and say hi! :D The contest ends at 7pm, Monday the 12th.

It's Faery Time!!!!

As a lot of you know, I love me some faeries. I'm not big on the fluffy, glittery types that grant wishes - I'm more about the darker types who would just as soon kiss you as curse you - perhaps in the same breath.

A new collection of faery stories has been released from TEB - my new book, Moonlit Menage along with awesome stories from Charlotte Stein, Jessica Jarman and Rachel Randall are out today!

Here's the blurb:

Moonlit Menage - Book Three in the Celtic Fire Series

American grad student, Brontë Matthews, travelled to Wales to study at the elite Bren Gwyrdd Music Conservatory, but life on the secluded campus isn’t what she expected. She quickly becomes friends with Quillen Davies and Tarran Ashe, and finds herself attracted to both. Even more troubling, an eerie melody repeatedly pulls her from sleep. When she follows, she finds herself in trouble and in the arms of her friends, the men who've haunted her daydreams.

Crown Princes of the Seelie and Unseelie Faery courts, Quill and Tarran know Brontë is marked for sacrifice by the bloodthirsty factions of their people. By Sidhe tradition, human blood must be spilled to bind their reign, but Quill and Tarran know there must be a way to save the woman they love. They only hope they can find it in time.

And here's an excerpt:

Quill watched as Brontë disappeared down the light-dappled path that led back towards the campus. At least in the daylight she’d be safe to wander the woods, and after dark, he hoped she’d stay locked in her living quarters. He continued to stare after her. The sun created a nimbus of her shoulder-length red hair and her pale skin practically glowed, begging for his touch. His fingers itched to caress her bare legs beneath the hem of her skirt. “She doesn’t believe us,” he muttered.

“Got all that from that clusterfuck of a conversation, did you?” Tarran rolled his eyes.

“Well, it’s not like we can tell her the truth.” He sighed and laid back on the sun-warmed grass.

“None of this would even be an issue if you’d come back to court already.”

“I’m aware,” Quill snapped. “In fact, it would be even less of an issue if I’d never left in the first place, right?”

“Your words. Not mine.”

“I’ve heard you think them often enough.”

“Why? That’s what I want to know more than anything. What is your fascination with the humans?” Quill opened his mouth, but Tarran held up his hand, momentarily stalling his answer. “I understand your attraction to Brontë. She’s different than the others, but I just don’t get what you see in the rest of them.”

Quill opened his mouth again, but Tarran was nowhere near done.

“Seriously—they’re destroying the planet, polluting earth, sky and water, killing or mutating natural life everywhere.”

Quill sighed. He’d heard it all before. “Finished?”

“Not remotely.” Tarran barely took a breath before starting in again. “They haven’t a care for anything save their own petty needs.”

“And the Sidhe are so different?” Quill bit out. “Seelie…Unseelie…self-centred narcissists, the whole lot of them.”

“Don’t forget, you’re every bit as fey as the rest of us, and sooner or later, you need to return. Time is running out. The Solstice is almost upon us.”

Quill closed his eyes and let the sun beat down on him. Slowing his breathing, he tuned into the quiet rhythmic pulse of the earth beneath him. The insistent thrumming repeated Tarran’s message. Time was short. He was needed in his own realm. If he didn’t return for the coronation, chaos would ensue. Both the Seelie and Unseelie Courts needed their rulers to maintain any semblance of order. He had no desire to go back, to be yoked by the crown. Worst of all, the crowning required a sacrifice. A human sacrifice. And he was pretty sure he knew whom the faeries had chosen.

Reading his mind, Tarran asked, “You know where this is all leading, right?” Quill glanced at the other man who stared off in the direction Brontë had taken.

“I won’t let it happen.”

“What?”

Quill sat up and glared at his sometime friend. “The Sidhe can take me, crown me, use me, but I won’t let them have her.”

Tarran’s head whipped around. “You don’t have a choice. You can’t stop it.”

“Watch me.”

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Three Bears' House

In January of this year, my book, Just Right, came out from Resplendence Publishing. It's an erotic retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Fast forward to a few weeks later. A friend sent me an email and said, "You've got to see this!" along with a link. So I clicked the link and ended up on Paige Tyler's blog only to discover that she was about to release an erotic retelling of Goldilocks of and the Three Bears. And if that wasn't enough of a surprise, her book was also called...(drum roll, please)...Just Right.

Fwuh? My mouth dropped open, and I blinked at the screen for a second. There was a moment of NFW! Then I just cracked up, because seriously, what are the odds? I mean, there have been other Goldilocks stories - in fact, my friend Tia Fanning wrote one. But the fact that Paige and I managed to do it at nearly the same time and name it the same freaking thing was pretty amazing!

Now we could have been cranky that we had releases so close together for books of the same name and similar story, or we could celebrate the fact that we both came up with a good idea at the same time. We decided to celebrate!

Paige and I are going to be giving one lucky winner a copy of each version of Just Right!

But first, let's find out a little bit about Paige.

1. What gave you the idea to do a retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears?
When I first came up with the idea for the story, it was just that, a very vague
idea. I knew I wanted to write a story about girl who gets spanked by multiple guys,
but I wasn't sure what the plot was going to be. Then, I saw a call for submissions
by a publisher looking for a hot, sexy take on traditional fairy tales and an idea
immediately began to take shape. I could take the girl who gets spanked by multiple
guys and turn them into Goldie and the Three Werebears!

As it turned out, I didn't give JUST RIGHT to the publisher who had put out the call
for submissions because I was lucky enough to sign with Ellora's Cave in the
meantime, so I gave the book to my editor there instead!

2. How did you get into writing? Did you always want to be a writer?

I have! I had an amazing creative writing teacher in high school who encouraged
me, but I kind of took the long way around and didn't actually pursue it seriously
until five years ago. I always enjoyed reading hot, sexy stories and while I was
checking out some eBooks, I said to myself, hey, I could do that. So, I sat down at
the computer and wrote my first sexy romance, SAMANTHA AND THE DETECTIVE.
It's about a spunky reporter who is determined to poke her nose into a police
investigation and a hunky detective who can't stand reporters. As you can imagine,
that makes for some sparks between the two - and some blushing cheeks!

3. Can you tell us what you're currently working on?

In addition to a sexy new paranormal romance which I'm really psyched about, I'm
working on a hot Naughty Nooner for Ellora's Cave, which are their free reads.
I'm also working on the second book for my Modern Day Vampires Series, which is
available from Whiskey Creek Press Torrid. The outline is completely finished on
that one and I just have to go back and flesh out the details. It features the hero
and heroine from the first book, Vampire 101, picking up where that one left off!

4. Any other fairy tales you'd like to retell?

There are so many great fairy tales out there! I think Beauty and the Beast and
Sleeping Beauty would definitely be fun. Cinderella and The Little Mermaid, too!
There are all sorts of possibilities there!

Here's Paige's blurb and sexy cover art:

The sexy tale of Goldie and the three werebears When Goldie Lockwood gets lost hiking and comes upon an isolated cabin, little does she know it belongs to three hot and hunky werebear brothers. The guys aren’t thrilled to discover Goldie ate their food and slept in their beds. Not wanting to go to jail, she suggests the men punish her for her naughty misdeeds—with an arousing round of spanking.

Goldie loves getting spanked and decides that after having her bottom warmed, she
needs a little sex to make the night complete. The only question is whether she’s going to sleep with one of the brothers—or all of them.

Paige has a great trailer for her version of Just Right. And if you don't want to wait for the contest to end on Monday the 29th, you can pick up your own copy of Paige's book here. You can also visit her website for more great info about all of her books and her blog.

Now...on to the contest. I bet you're wondering how you can win both versions of Just Right. Well, it's super easy.

First, you need to read Paige's excerpt and answer a question here on this blog. Then, you have to visit Paige's blog where she has a brief interview with me and answer a question there about my excerpt. Only people who answer both questions are eligible. See? Super easy.

Okay...here's my question. Who's the second brother mentioned in Paige's excerpt?

Cuffed and Dangerous is Out Today!

Well, my first menage releases today from Resplendence Publishing and I'm pretty excited - and of course, a little nervous!

After the blurb and excerpt, I've posted what Gideon and Jude look like in my head. :)

When a bounty claim becomes a fight of five against one, Jude Caulfield and Gideon Wells step in to help hunter, Wrenn Saunders, before she’s mortally injured. Wrenn soon learns that three is a good number whether in a fight or in the bedroom. Especially in the bedroom—and that’s just where Jude and Gideon want to keep her.

She might be fooling some of the regulars at the Jack Pine tavern, but she sure as shit wasn’t fooling him. Gideon Wells eyed the blonde as she nursed her drink like a broken heart. Her depressed demeanor was Oscar-worthy, but this girl was hunting. He’d bet his right ball her prey would walk through the door any minute.

He leaned back in his chair and observed her reflection in the mirror behind the bar. Short, honey-blonde hair framed her face, stopping just past her chin. She had pale, almost translucent skin that reminded him of an angel’s or a vampire’s—but he knew she was neither. His gaze rose to her full lips. God damn if she didn’t have a mouth made for sin. His cock stirred behind the fly of his jeans, and he shifted uncomfortably in his seat.

He watched her scan the room in the mirror, stopping when she met his gaze. Huge eyes the color of melted dark-chocolate glared at him, and he couldn’t help but smile. She was a bounty hunter. He’d never seen her, but he’d heard plenty about her over the last three years. While most members of the shifter community might not be best buddies, they kept each other apprised of shared dangers—like bounty hunters with hard-ons for feline shape shifters.

Her short, snug skirt rode up her legs, giving him a tantalizing glimpse of her thighs. It was impossible not to imagine how the creamy flesh would taste as he lapped at her. As if she knew his thoughts, her frown deepened and she looked away. He took that opportunity to continue his perusal of her gentle curves, following the delicately muscled line of her leg downward. Her feet were encased in impossibly high heels and thin bands of leather wrapped around her ankles. The sharp contrast of the black leather against her porcelain skin hardened his cock further as he imagined her bound to his bed, wide leather cuffs securing her hands and ankles, her body open and weeping for him.

Her foot tapped in an agitated rhythm against the metal rung of the bar stool and he dragged his attention upward. Her full lips were pursed in annoyance as she stared at him. Raising his bottle, he saluted her, barely stifling a laugh when she flipped him off.

The door of the bar swung open and her eyes darted almost imperceptibly toward the doorway. He followed her gaze and nearly groaned aloud as he saw his best friend zero in on the woman at the bar. This wouldn’t end well.

With an easy grin, Jude Caulfield approached the blonde and leaned on the bar while he ordered a beer. His smile faded as he crossed the room and sank into an empty chair next to Gideon. After a nearly draining the bottle, he set it on the table and sighed.

“The Montgomery build is on hold and I’m laid off indefinitely, the bar’s out of Killian’s Red, and I just got shot down by the hottest woman I’ve seen in months.”

Gideon grinned. “So you’re writing country songs now?”

“Fuck you.” Jude nodded toward the bar. “Who is she?”

“If I’m not mistaken, that’s Wrenn Saunders.”

“The bounty hunter?”

Before Gideon could respond, a triangle of dull light slid across the floor as the door opened, and Spencer Dane entered. Besides being a werelion and an all around dick, he was also the head of the local lion pride. While Spencer might masquerade as a reputable businessman, he was nothing more than a drug dealer using his import company as a front and the members of his pride to distribute his product. The tiny hairs stood up on the back of Gideon’s neck and the need to shift burned through his veins. It was more than cats not playing nicely with those outside their own genus. He hated this guy.

“Easy there,” Jude murmured. “The last thing I need today is for you to go panther on him. I can’t afford to bail your ass out of jail.”

Nodding, Gideon took another swig of beer, attempting to swallow his dislike with the cool liquid and watched as the creep made his way toward the blonde at the bar. His beast rose in his chest at the sight of Spencer’s hand stroking her forearm, his meaty paws caressing her bare skin.

Gideon’s fingers clenched around his bottle as she leaned toward Spencer, giving him a clear view of her ample cleavage. Forcing his grip to relax, he drained the last of his beer. What did it matter that she was flirting with a lowlife like Spencer? Gideon would love to think that she was in the Jack Pine to haul the bastard in, but so far, the other man had managed to keep his illegal dealings unproven, letting his pride members take the fall for him.

The bounty hunter swiveled on her stool. Buttons near to popping, her tight blouse left very little to the imagination, including the hint of black lace that cupped the full mounds of her breasts.

“Holy Mother of God,” Jude breathed.

“Yeah.” It was the only word he could choke out.

Equally enamored, Spencer laid his hand on her bare thigh as she giggled, peering at him through her lashes. In a move so fast, it must have taken years of practice, she pulled a pair of handcuffs from her waistband and snapped one of the bracelets around his wrist.

Spencer stared at his hand, dumfounded. “What the fuck?”

Hopping off the bar stool, she dragged his hand behind his back as she shoved his torso toward the bar top and wrestled the cuff around his other wrist.

“You’re under arrest, asshole,” she said.

“I think I’m in love,” Jude breathed.

Spencer pushed himself back to an upright position. Straining his muscles, he fought against the restraints. “You’ve got nothing on me, bitch.”

She grabbed the cuffs and pulled them upward, twisting his arms in his sockets. “Don’t bother—they’re silver. And actually, I do. There’s a bench warrant from a judge in Detroit for your arrest. You’re more than two years behind on child support.”

“That’s bullshit.”

“That’s life.”

“Look, I can triple whatever your bounty is. Just unlock the cuffs and the money’s yours.”
With her free hand, she removed a colt from her purse and pressed the muzzle into his back. “I’ve got a full cylinder. The rounds aren’t silver, so you’ll heal, but I can make sure it hurts like hell before you do.”

“Yep,” Jude nodded. “Definitely in love.”

“Whore,” Spencer growled.

“Helplessness is a bitch, huh?” Keeping a tight grip on the chain connecting the cuffs and the gun pressed against his spine, she shoved him toward the door.

Meet Jude and Gideon.

(Okay...in real life, they're really Jensen Ackles and Keith Hamilton Cobb...but in my head, this is who I see when I think of these two.)

From the Ruins - Available Today!

The first story I ever wrote for TEB as part of an anthology is available today as a single title!

This story is really close to my heart because it's based on how my grandparents met during WWII, so I'm thrilled to see it coming out on it's own.

Everyone who leaves a comment between now and Thursday at 6 pm EST will be entered in a contest to win a copy - so comment away. :)

Blurb:

Cardiff Wales, 1943 - Moira Boulton never expected her instant attraction to the American she meets thousands of miles from his home. Not in her home town. Not in the midst of a war. But there's no denying the desire burning between her and the foreign soldier, David Webber.

They barely have time to explore the explosive force between them when an air raid drives them to take shelter. Alone in a dark cellar, with bombs dropping overhead, they take comfort in each other and their undeniable passion.

When David disappears without a word, Moira is left to wonder, if a passion that burned so bright was nothing more than a pleasant diversion or if they actually can salvage a relationship from the ruins.

And here's an excerpt:

“Where are you going? I just got here.”

Moira Boulton and her friend, Bethan, stopped on the stairs of the USO dance hall and stared at the handsome stranger with the American accent and the glacier-blue eyes. Her breath stalled in her chest as she met his gaze. She would have thought that eyes the colour of a winter sky would be cold and remote, but not his. Fiery and intense, his gaze raked over her body, sending tingles coiling through her middle.

Despite his overly forward behaviour, her lips twitched in amusement. “I’m sorry, sir, but do we know each other?”

Flashing her a devastating smile, he bowed slightly, his burnished brown hair drooping over his forehead. “I’m Private David Webber of the United States Army, and if I’m not mistaken, you’re the mother of my future children.”

His companions whom she’d barely noticed chuckled good naturedly as a startled laugh escaped her. “The mother of your children, you say?”

“Well, future children,” he said with a wink.

“How often does that line actually work?”

“I don’t know. You’re the only one I’m ever going to say it to.”

He obviously wasn’t serious, but he was charming. Shaking her head in bemusement, she offered him her hand. “I’m Moira Boulton and this is my friend, Bethan Jones.”

He nodded politely to her friend as his large, warm hand closed around Moira’s. “Will you give me the honour of the next dance?” he asked. “After all, we have a wedding to plan.”

For a moment, she imagined the sensation of laying her head against his broad chest and feeling his strong arms around her. It was tempting to return to the loud, crowded hall, but she needed to get home. “The last bus is leaving shortly, and we need to be on it.”

His disappointment appeared genuine, but how could it be? After all, they’d just met. “I’m sure there are plenty of other girls inside who would love to dance with you,” she said as she pulled her hand free, ignoring the sour feeling in her stomach as she imagined Mary Katherine Landis in his arms.

He frowned waving away the suggestion and cocked his head towards the open door of the dance hall. “Give me your hand.”

There was something about this man that encouraged her trust. Even if Bethan hadn’t been there, she’d still feel safe with him, but somehow that same sense of trust left her feeling somewhat unnerved. They were in the middle of a war, for God’s sake, not to mention the fact they didn’t know one another. But as she studied his open expression, she realised she wanted to know him. Taking a leap of faith, she placed her hand in his again and allowed him to lead her to the walk-way at the bottom of the stairs.

A lively tune drifted from the building along with the scent of cigarette smoke, and David gently pulled her into his arms. “At least give me the pleasure of a dance until your bus arrives.”

She glanced around the street. “Here?”

He gestured to the darkening sky. “The moon is almost full, and the stars seem nearly close enough to touch. But you’re still the most beautiful sight here.”

Following his lead, she swayed to the faint strains of music. “You’re a right charmer, Mr. Webber.”

“David,” he corrected smoothly. “And I only speak the truth.”

As promised, an excerpt...

...from my soon to be released story, Body of Art from Resplendence Publishing.

“Actually, I don’t think you were avoiding the conversation as much as you were avoiding what I was about to do.”

Her tongue darted out to moisten her lips and she kicked the wheel faster. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, Seth.”

“I like the way you say my name,” he murmured as he stepped closer to her.

Her eyes widened in alarm, but she didn’t say anything.

Sliding his hands into her hair, he angled her face upward. “And I think you know exactly what I’m talking about.”

She shook her head, frantic little movements between his hands. Leaning closer, his lips skimmed her cheek as they coasted toward her ear. A shiver worked through her body and her foot slipped from the pedal.

“You knew I was about to kiss you earlier…and you wanted me to.”

A squeak that might have been the word ‘no’ escaped her lips. Her breathing quickened and she held herself so tightly she trembled. “I think you’re mistaken,” she choked out.

“If I’m mistaken about that, am I also mistaken about the way your nipples tightened when you were posing for me?”

“It was cold in there.”

“I didn’t know being chilly was a turn on,” he whispered against her ear.

“What are you on about now?” she demanded, her voice breathy, nervous.

“I’m sure no one else noticed, but I could smell your arousal. That leads me to believe you either have an exhibitionist streak, or…you want me as badly as I want you.”

She gasped, the sound sharp against his ear. The clay she’d been spinning slid off the wheel to thump loudly against the side of the tub that housed the wheel.

Still holding her head between his palms, he pulled back and glanced down at her. “Judging from the way your nipples are knotting against your shirt right now, I think it’s the latter.”

“No,” she mouthed, shaking her head, but no sound came out.

Holding her gaze, he lowered his head until his lips hovered just above hers.

“Seth, I don’t think—”

“Good. Don’t think.” He captured the velvet sweetness of her mouth as she stiffened in his embrace. Gently, he nipped and suckled until she opened beneath the pressure of his lips and he deepened the kiss, tasting her fully. Mixed with the tanginess of the pizza and the sweetness of the Coke, he tasted something uniquely Callie—delicious and addicting.

As if she was moving in slow motion, she began to respond, her lips sliding against his, parting further to accommodate the gentle probing of his tongue. The last thing he wanted with her was gentleness, but he also didn’t want to scare her away. As it was, she still held herself rigidly in his embrace. She was strung so taut, it seemed like she might shatter at any moment.

Keeping one hand anchored in the silk of her hair, and sliding the other down her back to rest at her waist, he urged her closer. It wasn’t close enough. He pulled her flush against his body, flush against his aching cock. Her body jerked against his in response and she released a shuddering sigh into his mouth, suddenly melting against him. Her hands grasped his forearms, splotching his skin with cold, wet clay as she dug her fingers into his flesh.

“Doctor Sulli—Um…yeah…I’ll just come back later.”

The words registered in the back of Seth’s brain, as Callie flew from his arms, stumbling backward into the base of the standing wheel.

He glanced toward the door, but whoever had been there was long gone. So was Callie. She’d already darted across the room and busied herself scrubbing the clay from her hands. Returning to his side with a wet washcloth, she studiously avoided his gaze she handed it to him.

“Sorry about getting you dirty,” she muttered before attempting to retreat to the far side of the room again.”

He grabbed her arm, forcing her to stay. “S’okay. I don’t mind.”

She did meet his eyes then.

He shrugged. “I’m not proud, Callie. I’ll take your touch any way I can get it.” He’d meant to comfort her, but as he spoke, he realized the words were true. He had it bad for this woman, and every moment spent in her company made it worse. She pushed her glasses up on her nose, watching silently as he wiped the clay residue from his skin.

“Students will be here any minute. Why don’t I show you where to change?” Her withdrawal was tangible. She might as well have slammed a door in his face…and dragged heavy furniture in front of it to barricade his way.

“Don’t you think we should maybe talk?” he asked.

“Nope.” Skirting five large kilns and two smaller ones, she unlocked a heavy wood door and propped it open with a cinder block doorstop. “We don’t have a proper dressing room in here, but the storage room locks and there are several robes hanging on a hook on the back of the door.”

She didn’t want to talk? That was fine, but before the night was over she was damn well going to feel. Placing the wet rag in her hand as he crossed the room to enter the storage room, he looked her in the eye. “Start thinking about how you want me.”

WooHoo!!! I've got new cover art!!!

This is the cover art for my new story, Body of Art, available at Resplendence Publishing on May 19th!

Art professor, Seth Granger, has two problems—an absentee life drawing model and a case of unrequited lust. Luckily his troubles have the same answer—his colleague, Dr. Callie Sullivan. The trick will be getting her out of her clothes and into his studio…and hopefully into his bed. However, she's intent on keeping her mind on her art and ignoring him. Now he just needs to convince her she should be his body of art.

I'll be posting an excerpt soon!

Wanna see something cool?

Neat, huh?

Just a little chaos...

It's turning into that kind of week. The kind where I'm starting 37 different things and not really finishing any of them.

I took my mom for surgery Monday. It went fabulously and she'll be up and around by the weekend-ish. Yay for arthroscopic surgery!

Unfortunately, when I was coming home I fell up my front steps and smashed my wrist, ankle and knee while trying not to let my laptop hit my front steps. Brynn always says it's not winter until I fall. Well, I managed not to fall at all this winter, so I'm guessing this means that I've officially ushered in spring...I hope.

Tuesday was mom's birthday, so we hung out in the morning, then I had to take Corwin to the orthodontist who slipped while fitting him with a bite plate for his braces and sliced open the roof of his mouth. Sooooooooooo not impressed. He didn't need stitches or anything, but he's sore and we have to go back next week to finish the procedure. Grrr.

Today is Corwin's 12th birthday. I can't even believe my baby is 12. Seriously, when the hell did that happen??? But that said, I couldn't be more proud of him. Granted, I'm biased, but I think he's an amazing kid - wildly creative and talented. He's also got the gentlest heart - If I'd let him, our house would be overrun by cats, dogs, rats, mice, rabbits, ferrets and raccoons. I wouldn't trade him for the world.

And in writing news - I just contracted a new book with Resplendence! It's called Handcuffs and Lies and it'll be coming out on August 4th 2009!

Know What Happens Today?

There's a spectacular new book out today by a brand new author, Mia Watts. I met Mia a few months ago when we found out we were both taking part in an anthology for Resplendence. Mia was kind enough to let me read an advance copy of her first ever release and it's freaking amazing!!!

Vampires, Weres, hot men, hot, angry sex, brilliant plot - seriously, what more do you need?!

Do yourself a favor and go here and buy yourself a copy! Right now!!

Blurb:

After twelve years of friendship, Damien is sure he has found The Keeper, the savior of the vampire race, in human form. The werewolves have a prophecy of their own and like Damien, they believe that Dr. Wolfrik Usher is their long-awaited answer.

Rik’s long-avoided attraction to Damien shifts into high gear when the sexual and physical demands of being a changeling wolf besiege his weakened inhibitions. And Damien isn’t sure he can resist the man meant to be a savior. Coming out on top has a whole new meaning as they fight their own biases in the midst of a species war. Whether the physical or sexual battle prevails, will they embrace the darkness or be claimed in its embrace?

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

Today is the celebration of the 104th birthday of Dr. Seuss. I loved Dr. Seuss books as a kind and I definitely loved them as a mom. In fact, I can still recite all of Dr. Seuss' ABC Book and it's been quite a while since I read it.

My all time favorite Dr. Seuss books are Green Eggs in Ham and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. So what about you - what's your favorite Seuss book?

Not sure if you've heard them, yet...

...but ChaCha Tuloose and Cuddles Gaylord have a new podcast up over at the Aurel Sex blog. You can listen to it online or download it to your computer.

Their casts are funny, informative and did I mention funny? This week, they kindly read an excerpt from my book, Overlord's Vessel, too.

So scoot on over and listen to Cuddles and ChaCha and have a giggle. I particularly enjoyed the Dueling Pickup Lines. :)

So I'm a Dork...

and I forgot to pick a winner. Because I got so many comments over the past few days and I was dork, I picked two names out of the proverbial hat. Jaimee and Kim are the winners. Please email me and let me know what book you'd like.

Also, I'm being featured in TEB's author spotlight, and I'd love it if you stopped over and took a look. :) Here's the link.

Lookee What I Got

A brand spanking new website. Okay, there's really no spanking there, but it's very prettyful as my niece would say. A lovely (and very patient) woman named Kelly Shorten did it for me, so if you're interested in having your site overhauled - or built, please contact me and I'll get you in touch with the web goddess.

In the meanwhile, come check out my shiny new site. To celebrate, I'll be giving away a book to a random commenter, so between now and Sunday, please leave me a note and tell me what you think of the new look.

A Little More News

I'd like to publicly thank the fabulously talented Brynn Paulin for revamping my blog. I suck at technical things and can screw up just about anything computer related, so I'm very grateful to her for my beautiful new blog.

In other news, I got a release date for my new book Body of Art which will be part of the Hot for Teacher Anthology with Brynn, Mia Watts and Cara Hart. Our stories will be releasing from Resplendence Publishing on May 19th 2009!

I'm so excited and I can't wait to see what they put together for us for cover art, but for now, here's the (unedited) blurb.

Art professor, Seth Granger, has two problems - an absentee life drawing model and a case of unrequited lust. Luckily, his troubles have the same answer - his colleague, Dr. Callie Sullivan. The trick will be getting her out of her clothes and into his studio...and hopefully into his bed. However, she's intent on keeping her mind on her art and ignoring him. Now he just needs to convince her she should be his body of art.
