My Next Big Thing

What is the working title of your next book?

Romany Nights: Gypsy Wolf.

Where did the idea come from for the book?

I’ve been fascinated with gypsies ever since I was a little girl, and I’ve always wanted to write a historical gypsy story – adding shifters seemed like a natural step.

What genre does your book fall under?

Historical, Erotic Romance and Shape-shifter…I like to cover all my bases. ;)

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

Definitely Colin O’Donohue and Sophia Myles – they’re perfect for Misha and Catherine.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your books?

In the course of escaping from a betrothal she doesn’t want, Lady Catherine of Wiltshire falls into the arms of Misha, a wandering gypsy with a dangerous secret.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

It will be published by Resplendence Publishing.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

I’m still working on it, so...lemme get back to you on that.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

Bride of the Wolf by Abigail Barnette and Coyote Law by Kris Norris.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?

My favorite stories involve the magical world colliding with the mundane. Typically, the stories I write are contemporary paranormal, but I really wanted to do a paranormal historical. Add in gypsies and shifters and it was a premise I couldn’t pass up.  

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?

Let’s see…it’s the beginning of a brand new series that’s full of breathless romance, adventure and a whole new cast of characters to fall in love with.

It's Here!

Worst. Blogger. Ever.

I don't know why I thought things would calm down in the summer. Clearly I underestimated the amount of crap going on.

Today's the big day! The Legend anthology releases from TEB today! Brynn Paulin, Carol Lynne, Lacey Thorn and I have written a group of five interconnected stories involving a tragic love story, a necklace and four hot stories each with their own happily ever after.

I thought I'd share the picture pages for my story, Moonlit Magic.

Here's the blurb:

Brought back to Ireland by her job, American Beckett Matthews jumps at the chance to study an artefact that recently washed ashore on an Irish beach. She's thrilled to have the opportunity to explore the history of the necklace. She's far less enthused to explore her personal history with the man who found the treasure-her first love.

Kieran Brennan has waited five years for Beckett to finally return to Ireland. When he found the necklace, he knew it was more than a historical find-it was the key to reclaiming the only woman he ever loved. Under a curse from the Faery King, he couldn't follow her when she'd fled to her home in the States years ago, but now in his arms he'll help her face her fears and return to him.

Unfortunately, he isn't the only one after Beckett. Denied his tribute when she fled, Aodhan the Faery King wants to claim her for his own.

Tuesday in Pittsburgh

Yep...the little girlie in the polyester 70s nightmare on Sandra Cox's blog was me. The blonde behind me is my Aunt Malita, who is by far the coolest aunt ever. She taught me all kinds of nifty things as a kid...how to read tarot cards, how to make a purse out of an old pair of blue jeans and she also let me help her make jewelry. She used to be a silversmith. I still have all of the pieces she made me.

I'm writing this from Pittsburgh. I'm in a hotel room with Brynn Paulin, Lacey Thorn and Cindy Spencer Pape. We drove down from from Michigan yesterday and even stopped at the Ellora's Cave offices in Ohio on the way through. They showed us the printing process and the giant snake (seriously - biggest damn snake I've ever seen.)

Today, Cindy will be headed to a different room and Carol Lynne will be joining us. And today I finally get to meet Kelly Kirch and Anny Cook - I'm soooooooooooo excited!!! Now Brynn and I are off to find Pittsburgh Pirates T-shirts for our kids.
