Maybe you had to be there, but

there was great cuteness at my house yesterday.

Abby and Corwin were being all cute and working on their homework together and I overhear the following conversation.

Abby: I can't remember what "revolution" means in science talk.

Corwin: Stand up. I'll show you.

So at this point they've got my undivided attention. Corwin leads Abs to stand in the middle of the room.

Corwin: Okay, you're the sun.

Then he starts spinning in circles while looping around her.

Abby: I get it! You're Mercury!

They tried to get Merlin (the cat) to be Venus, but he wasn't interested in the honor. The whole thing charmed me to bits.

In other fantastic news, Killian got his 2nd trimester grades yesterday and I'm thrilled to report, they're all As! Also look what he made in Product Design and Fabrication. Seriously? What ever happened to calling it wood shop?

When the weather finally warms up and stays that way, I'm going to teach him how to stain and polyurethane. I'm so impressed that he made this himself - and it's really comfortable!

It was a bitch to get home though...silly hubby refused to listen to me when I said it wouldn't fit in the car. Silly, silly, man. I may not be able to do math competently, but I can tell you within a yard how much fabric you need for any given wedding or bridesmaid dress by looking at it and I can tell you if something is going to fit in the car. Shoulda listened - lol.

At West, Home Ec became Survival Skills.
And no, we did not learn how to cook ramen, function while sleep deprived, or the best 24 diners.

Survival my ass.

Cute story! I can just imagine the cat's expression too.

The chair looks fantastic!

We call it CDT over here. Craft, design and technology. If I remember rightly, you get 6 weeks each of cooking, sewing, woodwork, graphic design and electronics. And possibly another one - but I can't remember what it was. It obviously made a huge impression on me!
