Check it out!

Brynn, bless her heart (for real, not the Southern way) updated my blog appearance for me and I love it!

When I was a kid, I wanted a VW Microbus more than anything. I'm not sure why. It may have come from the idea that if I wanted to run away, I could take everything with me. Or maybe it was because the cool hippie guy, that played guitar at the daycare center my brother and I attended, had one and I just thought it was really neat.

When I met my friend Margaret in high school, her parents had one. If memory serves, it was blue with matching gingham curtains. Anyway, I thought it was fabulous. Unfortunately, I think it went to microbus heaven shortly after I first saw it.

But whatever the reason, I've always loved them. And now, thanks to Brynn, I have my own.

Some friends of ours had an orange one they named 'Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart von Bus', shortened to 'Wolfie'. The parents were both musicians, obviously!

And now my sister owns one!

My folks owned a blue and white vw bus exactly like that one. Let me tell you something--the heating sucks. We lived in Chicago and I never was warm in that thing!

Enjoy your pic.

We call them 'combi' vans or v-dubs in OZ

I babysat for a couple in Indonesia who owned a red and white one. I love that thing. The seats creaked and the springs in them were really bouncy over every bump. It smelled musty and old and made the coolest grinding sounds when they picked me up for a job.

I like the blog decor. It suits you.

My neighbors across the street have a yellow one. It doesn't run. It just sits there looking like a big rusty twinkie.

Oh, dear dog. I hated that bus! And yes, it was blue.

The darn thing was a rolling loonie bin with all seven of us aboard. I could tell you such stories!
